Speaker - Jeff Divine
Jeff Divine is a renowned surf photographer, known for his work capturing the culture and spirit of surfing in the 1970s and 1980s. He began taking pictures of surfers in his hometown of La Jolla, California in the 1960s, and in 1971, he became a staff photographer for Surfer Magazine. During his 35-year career with the magazine, Divine traveled to some of the best surf spots around the world and documented the sport's top athletes.
In addition to his work with Surfer, Divine has published several books of his photography, including "Masters of Surf Photography Vol 1" (The Surfer's Journal, 2000), "Surfing Photographs from the Seventies Taken by Jeff Divine" (T. Adler Books, Artbook.com, 2005), and "Surfing Photographs from the Eighties Taken by Jeff Divine" (T. Adler Books/Artbook.com). His work has also been exhibited at museums and galleries around the world, including the La Corderie Royal in France (April 1, 2004), M+B Art in Los Angeles (June 1, 2006), and the A. Galerie in Paris (January 1, 2019).
In addition to his contributions to the surf industry, Divine has been recognized for his impact on fashion and lifestyle media, with his photographs appearing in the style sections of the NY Times, LA Times, and
, as well as in numerous publications and surf shops around the world. He was recently inducted into the Surfing Walk of Fame in Huntington Beach, California (2020).
